Overall Personality:
Ron is a loyal friend, though perhaps a bit slow on the uptake sometimes. He is prone to grumpy moods when things do not turn out the way he wants them to and can be extremely stubborn. He has always wanted to be famous, and has achieved absolutely none of that.

He is extremely protective of his friends and family even though he's sometimes embarrassed by them and their financial situation. He can be clumsy, especially with his spell work, and generally seems to never get anything to be exactly as he wants it. He gets teased a lot and is almost always being under estimated, but oftentimes he surprises even himself in what he can accomplish.

He is ambitious, but lacks the responsibility to put the extra work into his studies or work. He is really good at strategy and can beat just about anyone at Wizard's Chess. He can sometimes wear his heart on his sleeve, has a sarcastic mouth and can be a bit of a whiner.

Overall Family Dynamics:
Mother: Molly Weasley - Ron thinks his Mum worries about everyone too much, but he knows she only does it because she cares. He respects his Mum, but it doesn't stop him from moaning and groaning when she tells him to clean his room.
Father: Arthur Weasley - Ron is a lot closer to his Dad than his Mum this is because he can get away with a lot more with him. He also thinks he's rather mad though because he's so interested with muggle things, but Ron can't help but also be fascinated.
Siblings: Bill Weasley - Since Bill wasn't really around while Ron was growing up they're not extremely close.
Charlie Weasley - They aren't as close as Ron would like to be since there is such an age difference, but Ron thinks Charlie's work with dragons is wicked.
Percy Weasley - Ron thinks Percy is just about the biggest git he has ever met. He likes to push Percy's buttons, but generally just ignores him.
Fred and George Weasley - Ron puts up with a lot of teasing from his twin brothers, but the three are still relatively close. Ron hopes that one day he can finally pull a prank on them.
Ginny Weasley - Ron is definitely the closest with his little sister Ginny. This is mostly because when she was born it meant he was no longer the baby of the family and he had someone to look after. They've been through a whole lot and he is extremely protective of her.

History:
Ron grew up in the Burrow with his over protective mother Molly Weasley and his muggle loving father Arthur Weasley. Oh..did I forget to mention he has 5 older brothers and one younger sister? Needless to say Ron grew up in a very large shadow that was cast by his brothers who always seemed to know exactly who they were and wanted to be. He found it hard and aggravating being the youngest son, having to wear hand me down robes and read second hand books. He generally took it in stride, however, and stuck to mumbling underneath his breath about his "git" brothers or being silently mopey and grumpy.

Things did not get much better for him, in that respect when he went to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. His two oldest brothers had already graduated and were known by all of the teachers. Percy, the third oldest, was a prefect on his way to Head Boy. Fortunately though Ron had Fred and George, the twins, who would at least side with him when it came to Percy though were not much help to him in his social life. It was at this school that he met Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy, and was sorted into the same house with them - Gryffindor.

Harry, Draco and Ron were a threesome all throughout their schooling, barely separated. They had many adventures and were seemingly in permanent trouble though somehow managed to never get expelled. It probably helped that Harry had a mother teaching at the school and Draco had a politician as a father.

Ron joined the dueling club in his second year, was made a prefect in his fourth year and made the Gryffindor Quidditch team as Keeper at the end of his 5th year. While he might use these extra curricular activities to slack off until the last possible moment, he still does his best to do all of his homework himself.
